According to the Chinese medicine world view, all things are inextricably interrelated and from this follows the basic premise that a person is inseparable from his or her environment.
Leo Dening is a firm believer in living in harmony with the world around him and so is concerned to minimise the impact his practice has on the environment.
In particular:
- he aims to prescribe organic herbs wherever possible;
- he questions his suppliers on their environmental policies and uses this information when making decisions;
- he minimises car use by cycling, walking and using public transport;
- his practice only uses paper from a sustainable source or recycled paper; and
- he aims to reduce the amount of waste produced by his practice, while complying with the need for a sterile environment and wherever possible, the waste produced by his practice is recycled.
