Leo Dening is an experienced acupuncturist and he regularly uses acupuncture in his treatments.
Acupuncture has developed over thousands of years. It is based on an understanding of the body as a complex network of energy channels. Disturbances to the flow of energy in these channels can cause, or be caused by, a particular ailment. Fine needles inserted into specific points on these channels regulate the flow of energy and assist in restoring the body's natural balanced state. The needles are usually left in for 20 to 40 minutes.
Many people find acupuncture pleasurable and relaxing, a feeling which can last for hours or even days afterwards. Some people may find acupuncture a useful therapy at times when they are unable to, or prefer not to, take oral and other medicines.
Acupuncture is used to treat a wide range of conditions, such as anxiety, depression, sports injury, pain, arthritis, infertility, weight loss and many others.
